Welcome to Jacksonville ARTCC and to the training department resources page. Training is the most important aspect of any training department. This webpage is provided as a one stop reference to assist our controllers in their training progression all the way through Enroute Control.
We are continually updating and improving upon our training process and the resources we provide to our controllers. Feedback is always welcome. If you have a suggestion please feel free to forward it to the Training Administrator.

Tower Module
Flight Data/ Clearance Delivery
Ground Control
The VATUSA S1 exam will be assigned as part of your DEL/GND training. Actual promotion to this rank will not occur until all training and an OTS is completed.
Local Control
The VATUSA Student (S2) Exam will be assigned after successful completion of the Tower Module OTS. Once you have successfully completed this exam and passed an OTS, you will then be promoted to an S2 and certified to work local control.
TRACON Module
The VATUSA Senior Student (S3) Exam will be assigned after successful completion of the TRACON Module OTS. Upon successful completion of the exam the student will be promoted to S3.
Major Field Upgrade
Pending Approval. KMCO has an application in for a Major Airfield consideration. Notice of approval will be made and is forthcoming in the near future. All Controllers are encouraged to contact an instructor, when time and instructional staff is availble to request training for Major airfield status beore this application is approved. There are many changes forthcoming that will make the KMCO environment more realistic and exciting to both the pilot and controllers involved. Controllers that get this training before the major airfield appilcation is approved will be automatically upgraded and will be able to control at KMCO when the airfield is upgraded.
Enroute Module
Letters of Agreement
The VATUSA Controller (C1) Exam will be assigned after successful completion of the Enroute Module OTS. Upon successful completion of the exam the student will be promoted to C1.
